Sunday Fun Day

Meeting at the entrance of Fiesta Island at 7:30am

Be prepared as if it were racing morning - have your nutrition dialed in, make sure you have the same breakfast you will have race day, approximately the same amount of time before the start of this run, come ready with nutrition, hydration & electrolyte replacement.

Disregard the star on the map, we will be meeting in the dirt parking lot right at the entrance of Fiesta Island.  If you've gone to the monday night meeting spot, you've gone too far...

Please print out a map of the race course as well!

Track workout tonight - 6:15pm

You all ready for some 300s?????

Let's get to it tonight - bring a positive attitude, and for those of you doing rock n roll, bring your mental preparation exercise that we sent out - motivational consequences will be given if you don't....

See you at the track

Mental Preparations for Rock and Roll

We've been training the body... running technique, intervals, hill sprints, and tempo runs.

Now, as the race gets closer, we're going to bring you to a whole new level by training your mind to be as strong as your body.

Ready?

Get something to write with or get an audio recorder... take a deep breath, sit back, get comfortable, and relax...

Start writing or recording about your perfect Rock and Roll race, from the time that you wake up on the morning of Sunday, June 6th, until you cross the finish line.  Write in first person, and write about how you feel when you first wake up, about what you had for breakfast, about what you are wearing.  Write about how you feel at the start line, and the sensations and feelings that you are having during your ideal race.  Write about your nutrition, and how it powered you during the race, or the sweetness of the cool water at each water station.  Write about how you are charging towards the finish line, with the bands playing and people screaming and cheering for you as you finish the race, shattering your PR!

This written vision should be as vivid as possible.  Bring in all your senses.  What you are hearing, feeling, seeing, tasting, and smelling?  The more vivid, multisensory and detailed you are with your vision, the more your mind will look to create the same vision during race day.  Remember, you are writing about your perfect race day... create it however you would like to see your day go.

After you are done with your vision, find a relaxed comfortable space and review your vision at least once a week.  The more you practice your vision, the stronger the neuro-connections will be in your brain about that perfect race, and the more likely it will be for you to manifest your perfect race!
