10K TT Recap

Happy SUNDAY! As I write this, the countdown is on and its actually 20 days, 14hrs . . . .well you get the point! 

It was great to see everyone for the first SDAE run of the year!!!  For those who missed it, we met in Carlsbad and ran 10K, an out and back course that covered the first 3 miles of the course.  Although it was chilly initially, it warmed up quickly for another fabulous San Diego morning. Below are the results from today's workout. I have added the 10k tempo times in parentheses from 12/13 for reference. Remember the course was different so although its a good reference point, it is not an apples to apples comparison.

As the countdown continues here are some additional items to think about:  What was/were your rest/activities like leading up to today's workout? How was your nutrition the last few days? How did these things impact your workout? And like the article Nuno included in his email, what was your mental state? Were you focused during your run and were you mentally ready to run before we started?  These areas of awareness can significantly impact your race so don't leave them to chance. 

Lastly a quick kudos to Steph, who covered more than the Rx'd distance. Although she wasn't happy to have gotten a bit off course, she was still running! Way to push and stick with it.

Get some rest and some good nutrition!
